WhatsApp’s Upcoming Update to Introduce In-App Sticker Creation for Enhanced Conversations

WhatsApp, the go-to app for millions of users worldwide, is currently working on an exciting update to enhance conversations and make them more enjoyable. As reported by WaBetaInfo, the forthcoming update will introduce a feature that allows users to create stickers directly within the app. Although still in development, it is not yet available to beta testers.

The new update will enable users to quickly generate stickers from their own images. Using iOS 16 APIs, this feature will extract subjects from images and automatically convert them into stickers within the WhatsApp app. WaBetaInfo stated, “This feature uses iOS 16 APIs to extract a subject right out of an image and then, it is automatically converted into a sticker in the app.”

To access the sticker tool, users will find it conveniently located within the chat share action sheet. Within this tool, users can select a photo from their gallery and utilize various editing tools provided by WhatsApp, including the option to remove the background.

By incorporating this feature into the app, WhatsApp aims to provide users with a more seamless experience, eliminating the need to download third-party applications for sticker creation. This native integration will allow users to create stickers directly within the app itself.

Furthermore, this sticker creation tool will be available on both WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop. However, iOS users will receive additional tools and capabilities once this feature becomes accessible to them.
